Adoriamo il tuo Blog e il tuo account di Instagram. Quando hai cominciato? E come mai hai scelto proprio questo nome su Instagram (prettylittlefawn n.d.r.)?
<<In realtà avevo un account Tumblr chiamato PrettyLittleDeer (grazioso piccolo cervo n.d.r.) tempo fa, e quando ho voluto iniziare il blog ho deciso di cambiarlo con Fawn (grazioso piccolo cerbiatto n.d.r.). Ho sempre amato le creature del bosco, infatti ho anche un cervo tatuato sulla scapola. Immagino che mi sia sempre piaciuto!>> Pensi che i social media sono un buon modo di incrementare il proprio business? << Assolutamente. Oggi è importante avere una presenza online. I social media sono un grande “piccolo” modo di presentarsi come brand. Con Instagram sei in grado di raccontare la storia della tua azienda attraverso le immagini, penso che questa sia la chiave vincente.>>
Qual è la parte migliore dell’essere un’ influencer? <<Essere padrona della mia agenda è stata la cosa migliore per me. Ho lavorato come
commessa, al deposito, ho lavorato dietro una scrivania. E tutti questi ruoli andavano bene al tempo, ma ora che sono libera di pianificare i miei giorni non sono sicura che potrei tornare alla vita di prima! Un’altra cosa che amo davvero dell’essere un' "influencer” (anche se non è la mia parola preferita, ma credo sia accurata) è avere la possibilità di parlare ai miei followers. Sapere che si sono affezionati a ciò che faccio e decidono di seguirmi è come un regalo per me! Quindi mi piace parlare, rispondere alle loro domande e instaurare con loro un rapporto.>>
Sappiamo che sei anche un’attrice, come riesci a gestire la recitazione e il blogging ? è semplice?
<<A volte può essere molto complicato! Ho dovuto rinunciare ad alcuni viaggi e progetti per le registrazioni, ma recitare è sempre stata la mia prima passione, quindi fa parte del pacchetto. Ho lavorato per alcuni film e per la televisione per circa metà della mia vita, quindi è una grande parte di me. Fare la blogger come lavoro è ancora un nuovo concetto per me – ma credo che le due cose vadano d’accordo. Posso focalizzarmi su entrambi gli aspetti della mia vita, e anche se la gestione può essere complicata, amo che entrambi si presentano in svariate forme.>>
Ti sei mai sentita insicura di un’audizione ? <<Si! Molte, molte volte. Mi è capitato anche che audizioni da cui sono uscita pensando "Beh, sicuramente non sono andata bene!” sono poi stati progetti per cui ho ottenuto la parte. E’ difficile avere una misura di come sia andata, quindi ho imparato a non pensarci troppo una volta finita l’audizione. Rimuginare sopra i progetti “che sarebbero potuti andare diversamente” è pericoloso e, comunque, non sai mai per quale parte saresti perfetta al 100%. Sono rimasta sorpresa dei ruoli che ho avuto la fortuna di interpretare, quindi spero solo che il prossimo sia sempre qualcosa di nuovo ed eccitante.>>
Quanto tempo hai impiegato per diventare una blogger così seguita ? <<Ho aperto il mio blog nel 2011 senza aver mai sperato che diventasse quello che è oggi. Volevo solo il mio angoletto di internet in cui postare abiti e scarpe che mi piacevano, allora. Per me è stato un lavoro lento avere un numero consistente di followers, ma raggiunta una certa soglia è stato più facile, soprattutto negli ultimi due anni. Cerco sempre di assicurarmi di creare contenuti che possano piacere ai miei seguaci, sempre però rimanendo fedele alla persona che sono. Ci sono bloggers che hanno preso la strada più facile, comprando followers o partecipando a campagne in cui non credono. Mi sono imposta che non avrei mai fatto nessuna delle due cose, e penso che abbia funzionato davvero per me rimanere una voce autentica.>>
Sappiamo che di recente hai preso parte alle #ChloeGirls per un bellissimo viaggio nel deserto, hai mai immaginato di poter essere coinvolta in qualcosa di così esclusivo?
<<Onestamente no. Non avrei mai immaginato di poter essere coinvolta in qualcosa di così magico ed esclusivo. Ho iniziato il mio blog quando vivevo ancora a casa dei miei genitori, quando non avevo soldi sul mio conto bancario. Vedere il mio blog crescere fino a quello che è oggi è ancora un rompicapo per me. Quando mi hanno chiesto di unirmi al viaggio delle ChloeGirls ho avuto un riflesso incondizionato del tipo “Chi? Io?”: è stata un’ esperienza surreale e mi sento molto fortunata di essere stata scelta.>>
Ti consideri una travel blogger? Qual è stato il posto più bello che hai visitato?
<<Ah, domanda difficile. Ci sono tantissime bloggers che viaggiano molto più di me! Ma direi che per quello che faccio, si, sono una piccola travel blogger. Amo poter condividere l’intera esperienza del viaggio con i miei followers. Non voglio solo far vedere “Guarda, ecco cosa indosso in questa città”. Propongo sempre una lunga lista di posti che ho visitato raccontando ciò che ho fatto, raccomando ristoranti, locali, consigli per il viaggio ecc. Non sarò sicuramente un’esperta, ma voglio condividere l’intera storia, dare agli altri la sensazione di essere stati lì anche loro, con me. Il mio posto preferito è stato Barcellona. Faceva molto caldo quando siamo andati l’estate scorsa, ma la città ha talmente tanto da offrire che dimentichi che stai sudando tantissimo.>>
Un posto che non hai ancora visitato ma che ti piacerebbe molto? Perché?
<<L'Italia e la Grecia sono i primi nella mia lista! Sono un po’ ossessionata dal cibo, ma lo è anche mio marito! Siamo un team e ogni qualvolta viaggiamo sperimentiamo tutto fianco a fianco. Abbiamo sempre sognato di andare in Italia, e spostarci con grande grinta di città in città con tante pause museo qui e là. Facciamo la pasta a casa ogni tanto, ma so che non è neanche lontanamente paragonabile all'autentico cibo italiano!>>
Quali sono i progetti per quest’anno? Stai lavorando a qualcosa di nuovo?
<<Lavoro sempre a qualcosa d nuovo! Quest’anno aprirò il mio canale Youtube, ed è un po’ spaventoso! Ho sempre vissuto nel regno delle foto statiche, quindi girare video mi mette un po' di timore, anche se è una cosa a cui sono abituata, essendo un’attrice. Sarà come combinare le mie due passioni, quindi vedremo come andrà, auguratemi buona fortuna!>> C’è qualche consiglio che vorresti dare alle ragazze che vogliono aprire un blog o che vogliono iniziare a recitare? <<Per entrambe darei lo stesso consiglio – iniziate! Ci sono molte ragioni per fare un passo indietro ed aspettare, ma davvero, nessuna di esse è valida. Buttatevi! Provateci! Sarete sorpresi di quanto in fretta raccoglierete i frutti. Non sono mai stata brava alle lezioni di recitazione, ho sempre imparato di più sul set e nelle sale audizioni piuttosto che a lezione. Penso sia lo stesso per il blogging; impari lungo la strada. Certo, fate delle ricerche ed informatevi, ma non aspettate ad iniziare.>>

We love your Blog & Instagram account, when did you start? And how did you come up with your ig account name? <<I actually had a tumblr account called PrettyLittleDeer back in the day, and when I wanted to start a blog, I decided to switch it up to a fawn. I've always had a thing for woodland creatures, and actually have a deer tattooed on my shoulder blade. I guess I just really like deer!>> Do you think social media is a good way to improve your business?
<<Absolutely. In this day and age, it's so important to have an online presence, and more often than not that can mean something like Yelp - where you have no control over the conversation. Social media is a great "bite-size" way to present who you are as a brand. With instagram, you're able to tell your company's story through visuals, and I think that's key nowadays.>> What’s the best part of being an influencer?
<<Being able to control my schedule has been the best thing about it for me. I've worked retail, I've worked in a warehouse, I've worked a desk job. And all of them were fine at the time, but now that I'm able to plan my own days? I'm not sure that I could go back! The other thing that I really love about being an 'influencer' (not my favorite word, but I suppose it's accurate!) is being able to speak with my followers. To know that they are vested in my life and choose to follow what I do is such an insane gift! So I like to message with them, to respond, and to become engaged with them right back.>> We know you’re an actress as well, how do you manage to acting & blogging? Is it easy?
<<It can be really tricky at times! I've definitely had to miss some trips and projects because of filming, but acting has always been my first passion, so it comes with the territory. I've been working in film and television for over half my life, so it's always been a huge part of my life. Blogging as a job is still very much a new concept to me - but I think they balance each other nicely. I'm able to focus on both aspects of my life, and while time management can be tricky, I love that they both offer different types of creative outlets.>> Have you ever felt insecure about an audition?
<<Yes! Many, many times. In fact, the auditions that I've walked out of the room thinking "Well I've definitely just bombed that one" are often the projects I end up booking! It's so hard to have a real gauge on how you've done, so I've learned to just let it go after I've left an audition. Dwelling on projects that 'could have been' is dangerous, and besides, you never know what part you'll be 100% right for. I've been surprised at what roles I've been lucky enough to play, so I just hope the next one is something new and exciting.>>
How long did it take you to become such a followed blogger?
<<I started my blog back in 2011 with no hope of it ever becoming what it is today. I just wanted my own little corner of the internet to post about clothing and shoes I was into at the time. For me, it was a real slow burn to get to a decent following, but then after that, I've really grown a lot in followers in the past 2 years. I always try to make sure that I'm consistently putting out content my followers will enjoy while remaining true to who I am. There are some bloggers who have taken the easy way out and purchased a large following or else signed up for a campaign they don't believe in. I've made it a point to never do either, and I think it's really worked out for me to have an authentic voice.>> We know that you recently joined the #ChloeGirls for a beautiful trip to the desert , have you ever imagined that one day you would have been involved in something so exlusive?
<<Honestly, no. I never could have imagined being involved with something so magical and so luxury. I started my blog when I was still living at home, when I had no money in my bank account. To see my blog grow up to where it is today is such a mind bender for me. When I was asked to come along on the ChloeGirls trip, I had such a knee-jerk reaction of "Who? Me?". It was a really surreal experience, and I feel so lucky to have been chosen to become involved.>> Do you consider yourself a travel blogger? What is your favorite place you visited? <<Ah, that's a tricky question, as I feel like there are so many bloggers out there who travel a ton more! But I would say that for what I do, yes I am a bit of a travel blogger. I love to be able to share the whole experience of a new place with my followers. I never want to just show 'look, here's what I wore in this city'. I always give a long list of where we went, what we did, restaurant recommendations, drink recommendations, travel tips, etc. for every city we visit. I may not be an expert, but I want to share the whole story, to give someone the sense that they've been there too, right alongside me. My favorite place I've been would have to be Barcelona. It was so hot when we went last Summer, but the city is so fun, you forget you're sweating buckets.>>
A place you haven’t visited but you’d like to? Why? <<Italy and Greece are high on my list! I'm a bit food obsessed, but so is my husband. We're a team whenever we travel somewhere so we get to experience everything side by side. We've dreamt of going to Italy for so long, and eating our way through every city, with plenty of museum breaks in between. We make our own homemade pasta at home, but I know it will pale in comparison to the food there!>> What are your projects for this year? Are you working on something new?
<<I'm always working on something new! This year I'm starting my own YouTube channel, and it's a bit daunting! I've always lived in the realm of static photos, so to put myself on video is a bit scary, even though that's what I'm used to as an actress. It'll be a little bit like combining my two passions, so we'll see how that goes. Wish me luck!>> Is there any advice you would like to give to girls who want to start blogging or acting?
<<I would give the same advice for both endeavors - just start. There are so many reasons to hang back and wait, but really, none of them are good. Just dive in, give it a go, and you'll be surprised at how quickly you pick things up. I was never one for classes when it came to acting, and always felt like I learned more on set and in the audition room than I did in a classroom. I think it's the same for blogging; you learn as you go along. Do your research, sure, but don't wait to get started.>>
